For our growing stable of clients, we aim to provide elegant solutions built around progressive technology-we are on the vanguard that's bringing web-based "cloud computing" and streamlined software-as-a-service models to high-end business applications. To further this mission, we are seeking to add a creative, forward-thinking graduate student for a full-time summer internship.
This is not your typical financial programming job: The Summer Intern will join a group of passionate technologists in a dynamic and collaborative environment entirely unlike the sprawling, faceless, and risk-adverse IT departments found in most of the industry. He/she will work alongside senior developers on our breakthrough trading products, and be handed real-world responsibilities from Day One.
This is a small place: As an intern, you will get exposure to the entire software development cycle, from architecture to marketing. The level of responsibility and the complexity of the work will be up to you-there are few limits here. We see these internships as a way to get to know the next generation of leading software minds and for the brightest among them to get real-time software development experience in the financial world. We fully expect successful interns to be offered permanent positions upon graduation.
Required Education:
Candidate for MS of Ph.D. in computer science or related field. No undergraduates, please.
Technical skills:
Expertise in C# and/or Java, solid grasp of object-oriented design and implementation, familiarity with relational databases, distributed systems, SQL server, UNIX-based systems, ASP.NET.
Intangibles:
Attention to detail, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Above all, a willingness to think outside the box to deliver software that isn't merely functional, but also represents rigorous, bleeding-edge ideas about the interaction between technology and finance in unsettled and changing times for the industry.
If you are interested in this internship, please send your resume to careers@codestreet.com. Include a cover letter that describes, in detail, your software development background and your future career aspirations. Applications received without a cover letter addressing these topics will discarded.
